We took Elena and Owen to the train museum...

and we also wanted to try out our new double stroller!

Gotta love the big duckies!

Owen saw these at Grandma's and had to immediately flop on them!

Accidents do happen...

while we were visiting, we fell and got a cut on our lip! Yes, it's already healed by now...

And Uncle Fred.

They stopped by on their drive to Alaska!

We were visiting with Aunt Rumpai...

Hanging out on Grandpa's hammock

and Owen manages to land BOTH elbows, BOTH knees and a foot into Dad's crotch...

We've been so busy...

that we've had to DIVE into our food just to keep up!

Last day at Waikiki

and we get a lovely rainbow as we walk to breakfast.

Closeup of the reed-fish

Isn't it lovely? HOURS of entertainment (well, for an 18 month old...)

Petting a sheep at the kid's zoo.

While fun, was obviously one of the last things on our day. Owen was close to melting down, and Lisa had had enough walking. A nice little petting zoo, though.

What kind of baby sign is "Turtle"

HellifIknow. Anyway, Owen enjoyed watching this one back into his little hidey-hole. It was a hot, sweaty day - so we didn't last too long at the zoo.

ELEPHANTS!

We got there just as "Elephant Talk" was starting. Owen was a bit awed by the two elephants - while Mum was amused at the one elephant pooping and using the hose as a bidet!

The Banyan tree at the zoo...

qualifies as our "B-horror movie tree" of the trip. Add some spooky lighting, and you're all set.

The next morning

we head to the Zoo. This picture has nothing to do with that - but it's cute.

These were our tatoos.

From left - Owen's legs, Pete's forearm, Lisa's forearm, Mum's forearm. They washed off quickly, but got us some strange looks as we were walking up Waikiki.

So much to do and see...

it's all a bit overwhelming. Even a rose folded from a reed wasn't enough to keep the little guy awake!

In Tahiti, we wove fish from reeds

These were the best toys EVER! They put them onto little reeds, so when you "flicked" them out, it looked like you were fishing! Owen had a TON of fun with these.

We all got temporary tatoos in Fiji...

There were "islands" for Tahiti, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, New Zealand and Hawaii - all with games, activities, etc. A lot of fun and you could spend a LOT of time there. We didn't go to the luau, so we left around 6pm.

The rest of the day we spend at the Polynesian Cultural center.

Owen was more entertained by the ducks than the floats full of dancers....

Sunhats with rims RULE!

At the falls, we rested before the trek back down. We didn't bring our swimsuits, so couldn't splash around. Luckily, Owen is easily amused...

Took a day for the Audobon center

and trekked up to the waterfalls. Was very pretty and scenic - we tend to find these botanical gardens whereever we go.

We went to an overlook trying to find "Upside-down Falls"

Can you guess why they're named this way? The updraft from the cliff was amazingly strong!
Posted by Picasa

Even with sunblock...

Lisa got herself a nasty burn! Thankfully we found "Waikiki Aloe" - a whole store devoted to aloe products - and she was able to get some relief.

Sunrise on Waikiki...

and Owen was in the calm breakwater part. These are also floatie-shorts - down to his ankles - and although he's smiling, this was about as deep as he cared to get.

Coconut bras rule!

These were the women in the hula show - was fun to watch - Owen was entranced!
