While I don't remember the exact scene from E.T., Lisa laughed her socks off setting this up... There's a lot more animals around him, but this once came out the best... Posted by Picasa

This morning, he cuddled up to his dragon. The mobile overhead keeps him riveted for minutes... Posted by Picasa

This is super-happy Owen (just before the doctor got to him!) Posted by Picasa

Owen's learned to interlace his fingers - he looks so cute doing it! Posted by Picasa

Doctor's Visit update...

So we went to the Doctor's for the 4-month checkup. Good news and bad news. Good news is that he's in the 50th percentile for height, everything looks fine (hearing, reflexes, flexibility) and the few questions we did have were answered no problem.

The bad news is his weight is only in the 10th percentile. So obviously he doesn't take after his dad! We've got to feed him more - the doctor wants him to gain 3 lbs in the next 2 months. Heck, I can gain 3 lbs in 2 hours if I try hard enough! However, this means introducing him to rice cereal or formula in addition to the breast milk. We're a little worried about his weight, but Lisa did some research on the web and found out that the growth charts are not specific to breast versus formula fed babies. So we're not AS worried!

The shots went better than last time - the doctor was on the third shot before Owen started crying, and he was done crying about 2 minutes after the shots were over. As we were leaving the office, a guy on a motorbike asked us if Owen was just in the doctor's - he said he could hear the screams over the engine! Quite the set of lungs on the lad!

For those of you taking bets - I did NOT hit the doctor as he was puncturing my son. Lisa restrained me.

This is going back far enough

That some folks may not remember it. Do you know how many Petals Are Around The Rose?

This drove me mad when I first saw it.

We finally get a decent picture of the 3 of us. Happy Easter, everyone! Posted by Picasa

Grandma is so excited about dying eggs that she does the chicken dance! Posted by Picasa

We dyed eggs on easter - of course, I had to mention that I'd never done that as a kid - so I got to dye some! Here's Joe laughing at me.... Posted by Picasa

I love this shot - looks like he's waving to us! Posted by Picasa

Some rants, raves and general blogging...

1. My shingles are flaring up - so not only do I have two missing big toenails, I also look like I have the pox on my face. Annoying, but I went to the doctors and got some medication for it. Even itchier than poison ivy, in my opinion...
2. I also have a pinched nerve in my left neck/shoulder. It's worse in the mornings and generally gets better over the course of the day. At times, it's a real bugger.
3. I can't believe it's April already. Lisa is going back to work in May, so we have to get on the stick about finding a nanny. Time does fly.
4. Today is my good buddy Al's birthday. She's the one in Colorado Springs. I have to remember to call her later.
5. I was going to write something humorous here, but forgot what it was. Sod.
6. Turns out my 20th high school reunion is the same weekend that I'll be going to a wedding in Buffalo! Both my mum and my wife think I should go to some of the festivities. Personally, I really couldn't care about most of those people, so why bother?
7. I'll probably go anyway - since I'll be there. I wonder if I'll remember anyone. Or if I'll care.
8. Owen has almost outgrown the 1-2 diapers that we've been buying from Sam's Club. His next doctor's appointment is next week - not looking forward to watching him get more shots!
9. I've also been playing D&D Online that last couple of days. Not bad, but still very much a bit of a click-fest when it comes to combat. I get to play for 30 days free online before having to pony up any fees, so I'm trying to decide if it's enough fun or not.
10. If you ever felt old and out of it, just check THIS handy application to help explain what the youngsters mean by things. I've learned ALL sorts of stuff...

Lisa and Owen had lunch with Rasa today. We found out they're expecting a little girl! Yay! Posted by Picasa

It's time for breakfast - woohoo! Posted by Picasa

Then again, so is sitting on the couch, flipping channels. Propping a baby up and then resting stuff on him is going to be a big hobby of mine, I can tell. Posted by Picasa

Sitting in Dad's chair is pretty cool! Posted by Picasa

YAY! It's the weekend! Have fun, y'all! Posted by Picasa

The meal was great, and for dessert, I had a "Chocolate Sandcastle" - is that not the coolest thing? Unfortunately, it looked better than it tasted... Posted by Picasa

We went into San Fran yesterday to have dinner with Lisa's sister, Linda. Here the girls stare intently at the menus.... Posted by Picasa

While I'm soaking my feet (3 times a day for 20 minutes) I get to hold my little buddy! Posted by Picasa

We also have a big pot of purple and yellow flowers by the deck. He looked at these until Lisa's legs gave out and she had to stand up... Posted by Picasa

After the rain cleared, Lisa took Owen outside to check out the flowers. Here he's touching his first tulip! He was fascinated by the flowers (and yes, they are growing up in the middle of my grass!) Posted by Picasa

Owen in his swing - sometimes the only way we get to eat dinner together is with him rocking back and forth... Posted by Picasa
