It was so nice to feel his weight and his warmth, I had tears in my eyes. Heck, I've got tears in my eyes just typing this.
Of course, the instant she unwrapped him and put him back in the station, I stole that blanket. Yup, that's right - without an instant's thought I snagged that thing and walked out with it. That puppy's already home with me....

That is one of my favorite baby stories!

And I'm keeping the positive vibes going for quick recovery.

Cookie *snork* We have a high school hockey coach by that name, so I'm picturing a big guy in a red and white hockey sweater, pads, mask and skates wrapping little Owen up carefully for you.

Sly, Jackie knew a woman - an aide at school - named Cookie (who loved Jackie). She's a big, tough Italian woman and Jackie got a big kick out of her.

Come to think of it, she sounds like a female version of your coach!

Anyway, grat pictures, Higgy!

Aren't the NICU nurses great? We loved the extra attention we received from them. Our P-nut spent a week in the NICU and had all the wires and tubes too, just without the breathing thing. Her IV had to go into her scalp because it wouldn't stay in her tiny arm, wrist, or foot... that freaked me out more than anything.

Just seeing your pictures is bringing back a whole bunch of memories!!! I want to go look at my hospital pictures now! :)

Hope Lisa gets better soon.

His weight and warmth are things you will never grow tired of...okay, so maybe carrying him around at Disneyland all day you might, but that's a ways off.

Congrats.

I don't blame you for snagging that blanket. I'd put it on my pillow and sleep all snuggled up to it.

You're a true gem, Higgy. You're going to be a wonderful father.
